People from all over the world come to the Big Apple for a study vacation. New York is a fascinating city all year round, but it is perhaps most beautiful in the winter.


With fresh snow on the ground and bright, decorative lights throughout the city, New York is the most iconic American city in winter. Who wouldn't want to come here for a winter study vacation?


At IH New York's Winter Camp you'll see all the most famous sights, and even have the chance to go ice skating in Central Park, see the world-famous tree at the Rockefeller Center,and take advantage of the discounts in the winter sales.

Our Winter Camp is all-inclusive:


  • 15 hours of class per week, taught by University of Cambridge-certified teacchers.
  • 5 half-day and 2 full-day excursions per week.
  • A program of social activities, sports and games (e.g. discos and ice skating)
  • Accommodation at our Winter Camp Residence
  • 3 meals a day


Classes are held at our brand new school in Chelsea, one of the hippest neighborhoods in New York. Classes take place from 9:30 AM to 1 PM (with a 30 minute break) Monday through Friday, and are taught by our University of Cambridge-certified teachers. You can be sure to cover topics that interest you: New York, the USA, sports, fashion, music, and movies. We know how to make learning English not only easy but also fun. Our maximum class size is 15 students, with students of various nationalities, so you can make new friends from other countries during your winter study vacation.


There are two choices for accommodation – either with families in home-stays or in our Winter Camp hostel residence. Located in Manhattan's Upper West Side, the residence has everything you need to make sure your stay in New York is as good as it can be, including a game room, laundry, and free wi-fi. Bedrooms and bathrooms at the residence are shared.

We have the whole day every day planned for you during your winter study vacation. We'll eat breakfast at the residence, then travel 25 minutes to the school on the subway for classes. We'll have lunch after class at or near the school, and then eat dinner either back at the residence or in a restaurant or cafe in the evening. We provide you with 3 meals a day, so you don't need to worry about what, when, or where you're going to eat next.


New York is world-famous because of its iconic architecture, beautiful sights, and historic locations. At our Winter Camp, you'll definitely see all that NYC has to offer. We take you to the best sights in the Big Apple on our excursions: the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park, and the Brooklyn Bridge to name just a few. And if you want to make the most of your winter study vacation, there are optional skiing weekends in Hunter (only 3 hours from New York City).
